Porsche Parade Autocross

GGR’s autocrossers did just great at the Porsche Parade 2023 Autocross in Palm Springs last month. Congrats for taking home 17 trophies, including BOTH Top-time-of-event trophies (Mens and Womens) and taking 1st in 10 of the 13 classes that GGR contested at this national event. Thanks to everyone that attended and congrats again to all.

Also a lot of fun was our last “New Member Mixer” held at Autovino, with 150 attendees.

A big thanks to Wen, our membership director, for organizing that great event. In addition to viewing the display cars, tasting some wine and door-prizes, we also had a guest speaker, Chris Lennon (pictured above with his car), who provided an exceptionally engaging talk about the Pikes Peak’s Hillclimb and his experience at the event as well as some great stories. Last year, he also converted his classic 911 to electric power for the hillclimb and we were able to inspect his hillclimb steed as well as to ask some questions. He has also authored a book “ The Peak of Racing” which covers the course turn-by-turn, along with some interesting stories.

Looking forward, GGR has some great events coming up for July and August:

Rumour has it that Laguna Seca was required to repave the raceway in order to get this (once every 4 years) event back to our local track and I can confirm that this has been done and the raceway is back “on-line”, note the new new blacktop:

Bye for now and see you at a GGR/PCA/Porsche event soon !
