Sally was based on a 2002 911.

Porsche is creating a new 911 inspired by the character “Sally Carrera” from the film “Cars” in collaboration with Pixar and will auction it off for charity.

The car will feature several design elements from the movie car.

“Sally” was based on a 2002 911. The new model will be roadworthy and will include several signature features from the film car such as the light blue color, an updated version of the turbo twist wheels, a pinstripe tattoo, and what appears to be headlights shaded to look like eyes.

“Sally” will be completed later this year and auctioned by RM Sotheby’s with the proceeds split between the “USA for UNHCR’s” support of children and families affected by the conflict in Ukraine and Girls Inc.

The Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet America is a tribute to the 356 America.

Porsche has created something special for its American fans, the 2023 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet America. This limited-edition model celebrates the 70th anniversary of the 1953 356 America roadster. The original was specially designed for the U.S. market at the behest of famed importer Max Hoffman, with a lightweight aluminum body, Spartan interior, and the top performance parts available, which included a 70 hp four-cylinder boxer engine. It wasn’t a huge hit at the time and only 17 were ever built. Today they’re worth upwards of $4 million as collector cars.

The new 911 is painted Azure Blue 356, which is a heritage color based on one that was offered on the original 356. It also sports a unique set of white spoke wheels trimmed with a Guards Red ring, a satin black windshield frame, red seatbelts, and red and white stitching. The word “America” is embossed on the armrest and “America” decals above the rocker panels.

The 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet America starts at $186,370, but good luck finding one. Porsche is only building 100 for the U.S. and another 15 for Canada, even if it doesn’t quite match the flag there.

The convertible features a red, white and blue color scheme.

Seinfeld is a well-know n collector of classic Porsche sports cars.

One of our more famous Porsche nuts, Jerry Seinfeld, has settled a pair of lawsuits stemming from the $1.54 million sale of one of his classic Porsches in 2016. The 1958 Porsche 356 A 1500 GS/GT Carrera Speedster was one of 17 cars the comedian auctioned at a Gooding & Company event in Florida for a total of $22.2 million.

Seinfeld's 356 was modified to resemble another model.

Three years after the sale in 2019, the buyer of the Porsche, a company called Fica Frio, filed a lawsuit alleging that the vehicle wasn’t an authentic factory build and had been converted to resemble the model that was advertised. Seinfeld claimed he was unaware the car wasn’t genuine when he purchased it and reportedly apologized and told the buyer he’d make things right.

Seinfeld also filed his own 3rd party complaint against the dealer who originally had sold him the vehicle in 2013 for $1.2 million, European Collectibles of Costa Mesa, Calif. Both lawsuits have now been settled, according to Reuters. Better make sure what you’re buying…buyers beware as they say!

Rennsport Reunion, digital poster, 2022, PCNA

WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca will host the world’s largest fan gathering in September 2023

The next Porsche Rennsport Reunion will be held at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca near Monterey, California, from September 28 to October 1 in 2023. This will be the seventh running of the Rennsport Reunion and marks the fourth time that the iconic California race circuit is the stage for a celebration of the motorsports heart of Porsche. Further information on themes and ticket sales will be announced in due course.

During the four-day event, fans of all ages will not only get to experience exciting racing action with vintage and contemporary Porsche race cars on track, but also be able to see many rare Porsche vehicles, enjoy new vehicle reveals, Esports, fan zones, and take part in opportunities to meet and interact with drivers as they share their exciting racing experiences. Rennsport Reunion will also offer a host of other off-track activities.

Conceived by racing great Brian Redman and Porsche Cars North America’s longstanding PR General Manager Bob Carlson in 2001, Rennsport was created to celebrate the racing heritage of Porsche. They envisioned an event at which drivers and enthusiasts could gather to celebrate racing and pay tribute to the people and cars that have helped build the Porsche legacy. Since its inaugural event at Lime Rock Park in Connecticut over 20 years ago, Rennsport has continuously grown in appeal, drawing in 80,000 fans throughout the last event in 2018.
