Call to Order at 6:12 PM


  • Ed is on vacation this week, VP Scot Kalkin has agreed to chair this meeting (Route 66!)
  • GGR Laguna (June) Track day is in the Sept 2022 issue, page 106; Gilbert’s Summer drive is in the “queue”. Send any new submissions to Ed, let’s keep them coming (looks like a 2 month dwell in the queue). Maybe autocross? 1st event at Castle?
  • Reminder on PCA Subsidies: Fundraiser? (need to apply before event) -forms on pca.org
  • General Fundraiser/charity reminder

  • September financial reports – APPROVED
  • Our check to Zone for Concours was acknowledged as received
  • Constant Contact Account renewal: in process

Membership Director:

  • Membership Update and vote to accept 41 members APPROVED, 3,618 members GGR, 142 renewals
  • Future of GGR Membership Director, retirement 1 Jan 2023 and will assist with transition

Autocross Director:

  • Report on 9/11 Castle/Atwater – 48 ppl, cash flow neutral event, good experience, responsive, would like to pick more dates next year since Cow Palace will not support events and are looking at alternate sites (Laguna & Sonoma and working with other clubs to find other solutions
  • Trailer update: current trailer status, possible replacement with box trailer? Funding? No update, wait till season over
  • Plans for rest of season (10/15 Crows, 11/6 Crows): in process and moving forward
  • Plans for 2023: new home will need to be found, a mix between Castle & Crows Landing

Track Director:

  • Report on Thunderhill Fall Classic: 70 ppl DE, low club racers 20 ppl
  • Plans for 2023/BRR Tech Talks: no updates
  • 2023

    • 6 club races maybe too much, max 4-5 races?
    • DE 5-6 (cut 2 for better attendance and how calendar flushes out), can’t over program season, will only provide typical DE 2 day weekends unless we share Friday with another group
    • Review this year’s attendance to increase fees
    • Look at better ways to market events (open to others, Lotus, BMW)
    • May not open registration for the year at the beginning

Motoring Director:

  • Report on Past events
  • Motoring Event in September: Wine Harvest Touring Drive and Social Event

    • It sold out in few minutes as usual
    • We were able to accommodate 44 cars (65 members), and had to cancel all remaining registration from the waiting list
    • Members feedback: About 50% of members mentioned this was the best drive and social event they attended. Social highlight:

      • For 30$ per person, 3 course lunch at winery, prime parking at winery/photoshoot, winery historical private tour, Wine Families Meet and Greet, with wine by the bottle discounted price (up to 20%)
  • Budgeting of “Wine Harvest Touring Drive and Social Event”:

    • Revenue (in MSR): $ 1,068.45
    • Expenses: NONE
  • Upcoming PCA GGR motoring events:

    • Sonoma Women’s Touring Drive and Social Event! Sunday October 16th

      • In collaboration with PCA Redwood Region
      • Lady Drivers only
      • Open to 20 PCA GGR members, and 10 PCA Redwood Members
      • Event registration FREE, and lunch pay-as-you-go
    • Halloween Touring Drive and Social Event on Saturday October 29th

      • All members will be dressed up for Halloween
      • Morning meet and greet, and Halloween candies
      • 40 Porsches, divided into 4 running groups
      • Pay-as-you-go Lunch and Social event in San Jose
      • Car registration: $ 30
      • Lunch will be followed by a Halloween costume contest, with prizes granted to the best man and best women costumes
    • Holidays Touring Drive and Social Event: Saturday November 19th

      • Last event of the year
      • PCA GGR car registration will be free though we ask members to contribute at least a 100$ to the charity of their choice
      • We will have a drawing on the charities that members contributed to, and PCA GGR will contribute a 1000$ to the winner charity

Social Director:

  • No update

  • Last Issue will be a combined issue of September and October
  • Next issue release date 12 October
