It has been such a busy summer, and I apologize for the lack of updates over the past couple of months. During our most recent drive to Carmel on August 10th, I found myself catching up with one of our members, only to realize how quickly time has flown by. Between work, life, and hobbies, it feels like I haven’t accomplished nearly as much as I had planned. Can you believe the Halloween decorations are already up at Costco? The end of the year is just around the corner!

However, I’m thrilled to share that I’m about to embark on a once in a lifetime dream driving tour through Europe this Thursday! I’ll be navigating the breathtaking Alps, starting in Stuttgart and cruising through Italy, Austria, and Switzerland. Ever since my last trip to Europe a few years back, when I hiked the Stelvio Pass, I knew I had to return to drive those iconic roads. And now, it’s finally happening! A wise man once told me that the laws of attraction work in mysterious ways—keep dreaming and sending out positive energy, and eventually, your dreams will come true. So, never stop dreaming, and keep on driving!

Membership Updates

Now, onto business! We’re actively planning our next membership get-together. GGR’s calendar is packed, and with so many other car events happening all around, finding a “quieter” weekend has been a challenge. But isn’t it great that we have such a busy schedule? It’s a sign of a thriving community! I’ll keep you posted once we have a date locked in.

GGR/Porsche Redwood City Concours Event Recap

We had an amazing GGR/Porsche Redwood City Concours event on August 4th. A big shout-out to Captain Mike for all his hard work—it really paid off, and everyone had a blast. We had over 100 cars in attendance, making it one of our best events yet! Charlie Burton, the owner of Porsche Redwood City, shared that this was the 50th Concours we’ve sponsored together over the years. To mark the occasion, special cookies, T-shirts, and fabulous prizes were awarded. We had 41 winners across all categories! If you missed it, here are some photos to relive the fun:

GGR Member Spotlight: Gilbert

Guess who’s next in our GGR spotlight? If you’ve attended our motoring events over the past two years, you’ve undoubtedly experienced the enthusiasm of our former motoring director, Gilbert. I sometimes call him GGR’s cheerleader, with his boundless energy and positivity. Gilbert: “They say I was born with a steering wheel in my hand”.  😊
