Board Meeting Minutes
September 13, 2020
Present: John Celona, Canyon Chan, Serena Cheng, Brian Emmett, Chris Hamilton, Jim McClelland, Himanshu Patel, Michael Sherman, Howard Yao.
Call to Order:
The meeting was called to order at 3:07 pm.

The October 18 Concours d’ Elegance at Porsche Redwood City has been cancelled.
Call for budget changes:
Aug 22-23 Club Race, 32 racers participated at Sonoma Raceway. The DE/Club Race at Laguna Seca was a sold out event and very successful.
The following positions are coming up for election: Vice President, Treasurer, Membership, Social, Nugget Editor, and AX Chair. The Nominating Committee consists of: John Celona, Brian Emmett, and Chris Hamilton.
There was discussion regarding plans for the annual Awards Ceremony in January.
Brian sent a budget link to the Board. Certificate of Insurance has been issued for the next AX event and Thunderhill DE.
A motion to approve Howard’s previous Board meeting minutes from August 2 and Special Board Meeting on August 29 was carried without dissent.
Canyon has issued updated financial reports, the Board approved them unanimously. Jim to follow up on status of Club Race income.
As of the time of this meeting, PCA GGR had 3502 members. Since the previous meeting, the Club welcomed 47 new members, 49 members dropped out, and 103 members renewed. A motion to approve all new members was carried unanimously.
Zone 7 had cancelled the entire concours series and GGR decided to follow suit as well.
Next Autocross event is scheduled for 9/20 at Cow Palace. Crow’s Landing facility remains closed. Laguna Seca will not rent Turn 5 lot for AX use.
A new AX car classification system is under discussion, with the goal of reducing the number of classes and increasing the number of competitors in each class.

Himanshu is looking to schedule Fun Runs in the near future.
The next track event is on September 26-27 at Thunderhill, DE and Club Race, followed by a Club Race on October 10 at Sonoma. Jim requested a cash advance for the Thunderhill event and it was approved unanimously.
During the pandemic, tracks, municipalities, and the Club requires various waivers. Jim is working with MotorSportReg to try and streamline this cumbersome process.
Jim spoke with Andrew Chang from Porsche Digital to see how they could better support our club events.
Due to uptick in COVID-19 cases in California, Serena has decided to postpone any social events in the near future. The club continues to offer Covid-safe events both in-person (autocross, Drivers’ Education, and PCA Club Races) and online (board of directors meetings).
There has been an uptick in our Club Instagram account activity.
New website design will continually be refined with the goal of launching the new website in early 2021.
