President’s Message – May 2015
It’s been a couple of months since I last wrote my message. We’ve seen a lot of club activities including three fun runs, two DE’s, two Club races, two Autocrosses, two Friday night socials, one Boxster brunch and a Membership Mixer attended by our national president Caren Cooper and the entire executive committee. What a fun time we have in our region sharing our stories, talking about aftermarket parts, replacement tires, places to service our vehicles as well as great drives!
June is upon us and we have another packed month, culminating in Porsche Parade in French Lick, Indiana. Unfortunately, I’ll not be driving across the country and going to Parade this year. Luckily there will be several Golden Gate members taking the trip and meeting up with old friends and meeting new ones. Several who’ve attended more than 40 Parades.
The Golden Gate Region is in its 55th year. We will be holding a special membership mixer in September to celebrate our 55 years. We are one of the oldest and largest regions in the country with members who enjoy their Porsche’s in a variety of ways. But most of all, we are a region of great people. Keep an eye out for announcements about the event over the summer.
The Golden Gate region has some great events this month. We have a Boxster (any Porsche) brunch at Alice’s Restaurant, a club race weekend at Laguna Seca, a separate DE weekend at Laguna Seca, an Autocross at Alameda, the 3 day tour of Mammoth Lakes with the Sequoia region and Porsche Parade in French Lick. For more details about these events check out our calendar. The next fun run is scheduled for July 11th. I’ll be coaching at the DE at Laguna Seca and attending the Autocross, please make sure you drop by and introduce yourself – it’s great to meet members and check out their Porsche’s.
