November 2019 Track Report
2019 Season Wrap
Our 2019 season has just concluded with two October events – a 3 day DE at Laguna Seca immediately followed by a Club Race at Sonoma. Our Sonoma weekend was cut short by wild fires and power outages, but the first day’s racing brought a lot of smiles.
A zillion thanks to all of you who supported GGR’s track program in 2019, especially since your track chair tried several different things, including running the Thunderhill 2 mile and 5 mile courses in the reverse direction, running Buttonwillow in the reverse direction, and our inaugural four day, 103 dB “Kahuna at Laguna” Club Race event.
Over the course of the year, across over 800 registrations, more than 300 drivers from across the country, nearly 100 new students, 60 instructors, and 100 racers supported our 7 DE and 5 Club Race events. We tip our helmets to you for making 2019 an exciting season!
Your track chair must again acknowledge your amazing and enthusiastic volunteer track team of David Bunch, Milo and Dianne Dorr, Kim Garcia, Scott Kalkin, Chuck Kolstad, Ken Mack, Paul Marty, Parker Merrill, Sharon Neidel, Steve Taty, John Teasley, Tim Smith, Heath Spencer, Dan Thompson, Michael Tsang, and all the other many volunteers who pitch in to make our events safe and fun.
The 2020 schedule is still up on a lift. We’ll unveil it as soon as get everything torqued properly and numbers on.
Eyes up, drivers!
