March, 2021 Autocross Report

Our first event is coming up on March 13th at Cow Palace. Hope you are ready for some intense competition – THE REGISTRATION PROCESS. Make sure you hone in your alarm setting, website bookmarking, and fast keyboard clicking skills to secure a spot in the event. In seriousness, our venue capacity continues to stay limited with the local health order still in place. We do not expect the situation to be any different until Summer. Here are some tips to get ahead in your registration process.

  1. Car Classification:

GGR is adopting zone 8 car classification system (limited to CC01 through CC18 classes). Make sure you know your 2021 car class by register your car in advance of the registration process at Zone 8 Car Classification System.

  • Helmet:

Helmets are required to be worn by all drivers and passengers. Loaner helmets will not be available. You are required to bring your own helmet. Only Snell SA2010 certified or newer helmets are allowed. Motorcycle helmets are allowed.

  • MotorsportReg Account:

Make sure your MotorsportReg account is current. Keeping your credit card information current prevents you from losing your registration, while keeping PCA membership information current in “PCA – Golden Gate – Autocross” organization within your account allows you to register during early bird registration.

  • Seasonal Car Numbers:

Car numbers not used in previous two seasons are considered dormant numbers and are retired at the end of each season. For those hunting for a better number, now is a good time to switch to a newer number. Three-digit numeric numbers are available at Long term members with more than two years of involvement may request a two digit number by contacting autocross chair directly at

And yes, bad news for first timers continue for a little while. Appreciate your patience while we try to work out a way for first timers to participate.

Please continue to monitor the PCA-GGR website for updates on autocross program.

Your GGR Autocross Chair,

Himanshu Patel
