Driving for a Purpose
For 17 days, our amazing firefighters battled to contain the Camp Fire. Over 150,000 acres, 18,000 structures, and at least 85 lives were lost, and while the fire is now 100 percent contained, the job is far from done. The road to recovery will be long for those affected.
At GGR, we love to give back to good causes, especially when they hit so close to home. That’s why Robert Habibi, our incoming Motoring Director, is hosting a charity fun run on Saturday December 8, where 100% of the proceeds will be donated to benefit victims of this tragic fire. Registration for the “Run for Paradise” is open now, and you can get all of the details on MotorsportReg. I’ll be there, and we will do our best to allow for the maximum number of cars for this event.
This latest charity run joins our yearly Santa Barbara charity overnight run, which for the last two years has benefited the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and our volunteer appreciation event, benefiting Toys for Tots (register for that one on MotorsportReg too). Behind the scenes, GGR makes regular donations to charity each year too.
But we’d like to do more, and so we’re planning to expand on these new giving traditions with more opportunities throughout the year to drive for a purpose. There is nothing better than being able to get out there and drive your Porsche while contributing to a worthy cause. If you have ideas for events, or would like to volunteer to produce your own events, please get in touch!
And to those affected by the Camp Fire, all of us here in GGR are sending you strength as you work to get your lives back on track.
