Autocross #5 Report

July’s Autocross was yet another sold out event at Alameda with 105 pre-registered. It was a fairly fast, long course with most times falling around the 60 second mark. Even with the long course, the event ran smoothly and all we were able to fit in 9 runs total. Paul’s 911 lifting a wheel at the turn-around:

The top finishers list for this event was interesting, with the GT3’s sweeping the top 3 classes this time and Boxster/Cayman platform sweeping the next 8 classes (AX05-AX12):

Also, take a look at Teddy’s time (in Red above) up near the GT3’s. Pretty impressive and good for a 3rdoverall place finish in PAX. Teddy’s Cayman GTS:

Monte P took TTOD with a 49.2 in his GT3 shod with Hoosiers, a solid win over the 2ndplace 914 of Andrew Blyholder (49.5). TTOD bounced around between Monte, Andrew and Peter throughout the day, the cars & drivers were clearly pretty closely matched! Monte’s GT3:

Monte also took 1stplace in PAX for AX5. The following table lists PAX winners so far this year by event. Note that only Steve L has managed to win PAX at more than 1 event so far this year:

Here’s another way to look at it, a graphic with stacked PAX points per driver for the 1st5 events (you will probably need to download and magnify to read the names):

Full results can be found here: you missed AX5, don’t worry, AX6 registration is now open and here’s the link:, or for compatible mobile devices:

If you’re interested, I’d advise signing up sooner rather than later. Every AX event so far this year has sold out in 2-3 weeks, well before the event. Only 4 more events remain this year:

  • Autocross #6-August 17ALAMEDA (Saturday)  REG OPEN !!
  • Autocross #7– September 29 (joint ZONE 7 weekend with LPR at MARINA) (Sunday)
  • Autocross #8-October 19 ALAMEDA (Saturday)
